Its My PARTY and I can cry if I want to!

This is how the birthday girl celebrated the day. One moment happy go-lucky and the next minute throwing herself on the ground telling us NO. I had to put this picture up first, even though she was not happy at the time. I told her I wanted to take her birthday picture and she absolutely refused. As you know coming back from China, she learned how to say "no pics please" to the many of her Chinese admirers and I guess she thought her protest here in America would work just as well. Too bad, we as her parents think its funny and decide to torture her anyway for memory's sake.

Anyway, she is a super cutie and I feel so lucky to have her fun-loving self in my life. I can't believe that she is two already! Time really does fly. When I think two years back to the whole labor day fiasco without James and spinal meningitis a week later they are not the best memories, but we sure have made up for them a hundred fold with the new ones. Happy Birthday Juicy Girl!

First Day of School

Here is my BIG preschooler on her first day of school!
She was so excited!
She woke me up promptly at 7AM and said,
"Wake up mom, I'm going to school today".
She told me that she knew I would miss her today,
but that she was going to have fun
and would only be gone a few hours and then I could pick her up.
Don't worry mom!
I needed the prep talk because I was sad to be
without her.
We dropped her off, she gave me a kiss and away she went to the
many projects on the tables!
Kids all around were crying and holding on to their moms
for dear life. I even had to step over a kid who had thrown himself in front of the door
screaming at the top of his lungs when his mom left.
I didn't want C to do that, but I secretly hoped that she
would miss me a little.
In the end it was great. K asked a hundred times where Sissy was. And when I picked C up
she gave me and K big hugs and asked what we
did all day without her!
It was cute and I'm glad she is so independant
at times like these.
I had to pack two lunches this morning because someone couldn't understand
why she wasn't going to school too!

Open House at School

Here are my two cuties on the day before school starts for C.
She was so excited!
She kept reminding her little sis
that she was going to be going to school by herself,
but just for today, K could come with her.
We all went, including Dad (Yipee!), and were introduced to her teacher,
who had BLUE hair!
C was so fascinated by that and kept saying, "you have blue hair".
Her teacher is super nice, super creative, and great with kids--
I mean who else would dye their hair blue for an open house?
Another quick shot outside before we head to the open house.
